Emmeline Birthday Celebrations

Who knew turning 4 was so exciting? We sure did celebrate--at home, at school, and with friends.

4 Years

I feel like I say this every year, but 4 years!? How is it even possible that we have a 4 year old? What a wonderful young lady she is turning into, and we are so proud of her!

3 Years

3! We officially have a non-toddler who is talking up a storm and curious about everything! It seems she has suddenly become a little adult, and when I look back at pictures from a year ago she looks like such a baby at 2. 

Happy Birthday, Emmeline!

This is probably the first year that Emmeline has really understood her birthday. For weeks leading up, she eagerly awaited the day. We even had a chain to countdown to the day. And finally, the day arrived! We celebrated the new 3 year old twice, with friends and family!

Emmeline's 1st Day of School

Emmeline has been so excited to start school and the day finally arrived. It just happened to fall on her birthday, what a day! She wasn't so excited to put on her uniform, but once it was on and she was there, she had a great day! Her teacher is Ms. Mugdha at the Early Learning Village of Stamford American International School. I think it will be a great year, though I can hardly believe she is old enough for school!

In May she started calling herself bunny snacks and likes to tell people her name is bunny snacks as she laughs. 

Emmeline's 1st Haircut

It doesn't look like much, but she got 2-3 inches cut off to even it out a bit. She even got curls put in after, which I think was here favorite part! As usual, she was quiet reserved and quiet through the whole thing, but I think she loved it. She's since asked me if she can get another haircut!

Favorite stories to tell:

She loves to talk about the muskrat that I saw in the backyard after the bouncy house. Tells almost everyone “I saw a muskrat! It has a yong sinny (long skinny) tail!”

We’ve seen lots of wildlife in the backyard in Wisconsin, and she loves to talk about the tracks she’s seen: Bear tracks, muskrat tracks, deer tracks, Emmine (Emmeline) tracks!

Loves giving music lessons to her students, using her pony book and playing on the piano while singing.

Easter

Easter was busy this year! A little strange not having Dad around, but we had lots of fun with family. 

Photo Shoot

Over the course of several days we did a little newborn/sister/family photo shoot. The most challenging part was getting the toddler to cooperate, but we got some good photos, I'd say!

Emmeline Meets Corabelle

 







Emmeline had a fun weekend at Everett's and then with Grandma Julie while we were in the hospital having Corabelle. She was very excited to meet her little sister, though!

WI Visit & Emmeline’s 2nd Birthday

We decided we needed to escape the heat of Houston and headed to Wisconsin for a couple of weeks before Emmeline's birthday. Although a bit on the cooler side for August in Wisconsin, it was a welcome break for us, and Emmeline loved all her Grandma and Grandpa time.

2 Years

Two! For some reason two just seems so much older than one. In some ways it's hard to believe it was already two years ago that we were anxiously awaiting her arrival, and in other ways, it feels like yes, it was definitely two years. She has grown up so much, especially the past few months, and is definitely a true toddler now!

18 Months

Emmeline is officially turning into a little girl! It's amazing how quickly she picks up on things and how much she learns on a daily basis! These 3 months have been filled with lots of firsts: first church nursery visit, first camping trip, first YMCA gym childcare experience (it took a few weeks for her not to cry but now she loves it!)

Winter Camping, Literally

With a new tent in hand, we decided it was time to introduce Emmeline to camping! We recruited Kristy, Konrad, Maddox, and Mila along too, and made the short drive to Hunstville State Park. We thought January would be a great time for camping to avoid the heat, but we didn't quite count on it being true "winter" camping!
