This is probably the first year that Emmeline has really understood her birthday. For weeks leading up, she eagerly awaited the day. We even had a chain to countdown to the day. And finally, the day arrived! We celebrated the new 3 year old twice, with friends and family!
Paw Patrol has become a staple in our household, so naturally, Emmeline requested a Paw Patrol party. We decided to have it at our pool and function room to make it easy on everyone. We did manage some Paw Patrol themed food and cake though. Despite running out of icing bags with 1/4 of the cupcakes left, I managed to pull off the rest of the grass okay, green stained hands and all. Everyone had a good time swimming, playing, and eating. It was a small group, as it was a holiday week and a few of Emmeline's friends were gone.
The following day was Emmeline's actual birthday (and first day of school). We celebrated that evening with gifts and her request for dinner: steak, corn, and sweet potatoes. Of course she would choose steak, the most expensive meat in Singapore! Good thing we have a wholesale market near us with good meats. Another Paw Patrol cake was in order for that night too. I think she had a pretty great birthday-hard to believe she's 3!
