It's been a busy month with a trip to Australia and Halloween! Corabelle has now officially been out as long as she was in. Her 9 month birthday fell on her 39 week birthday, and she was born at 39 weeks almost exactly! (Ok, 50 minutes into the next day.)
She's still not really moving or mobile yet, but I'm still okay with that! She refuses tummy time and immediately rolls onto her back if you put her on her stomach, no matter how crazy you act while she's on her tummy! She loves to sit and will lean all the way forward but then just sits right back up. Toward the end of the month, she started pulling to stand on our hands, and now she loves standing. She will play at her activity table for long lengths of time, and even thinks she only needs one hand to hold on. (she definitely still needs two!) While she hasn't pulled up on anything else yet, it's only a matter of time, she loves pulling up, and has even started "walking" when holding our hands. She gets her feet pretty high. I wouldn't be surprised if she skips crawling all together and just walks at some point!
Corabelle continues to be a happy, smiley baby. She's becoming more and more interactive and loves hiding herself during peek-a-boo, dancing, and music. She is quite focused on new things or when trying to figure out how to do something, like put the ball into her activity table. She can wave hi, do "so big", and sign all done. Although, all 3 of those looks pretty much exactly the same: one arm partially raised in the air.
Separation anxiety has started to kick in. Even if I'm next to the person holding her, she's usually crying, learning back to me. Luckily, it isn't to the point where I can't walk into another room in the apartment on my own, at least yet! Emmeline continues to be her favorite person; I think she is seriously bored the days Emmeline is at school. I try and get outside as much as possible those days because she loves to look around and smile her crazy big smile at people. Who, of course, respond with "ohhh, so cute!" (said in an Asian accent)
Right at the end of the month, she started the 3-2 nap transition. It really is amazing how quickly they change because just a week prior she was easily taking 3 naps a day with only 2-2.5 hours between them. Now, all of a sudden she needs at least 3 hours between naps, sometimes more! We will see how the jet lag from New Zealand and the US in the next few months affects these naps and sleep, though, eek!
She continues to be loud with squawks and squeals and curious about everything around her. She definitely wants to be involved in everything that is going on. We love her eyes squeezed shut smile with the tilt of the head!
