10 Months

I can't believe we are only two months away from 1 year old! This month Corabelle's personality has really started to take shape, and although she's still not mobile, she did get her first teeth this month!

Corabelle continues to be a happy smiley baby, but somehow over the past month she seems to have embodied that happiness in every bit of her being. When she smiles she seems to smile with her whole body, often eyes squinting and with a squeal. She loves people, and loves to tilt her head to the side to smile at you, usually because it gets quite the reaction from people. She's learned to wave hello with one arm, and you'll often find her waving over and over again. Her little head tilt to the side just gets me every time. She knows she's being cute and does it just for the reaction!

 

Corabelle is still not interested in crawling, but she does tolerate tummy time more now. She pushes up on her arms and kicks her legs, and can spin around to get different toys on her belly. But, usually after a few minutes, she gets frustrated and ends on her back again. She's starting to go from back to belly and back again while playing and getting different toys, so sometimes after 10 minutes she'll be on a completely different side of the room than where she started, but she's gotten there by rolling and spinning, not crawling.

 

She's still very interested in standing and walking with help. She loves to stand by her activity table or the couch, and just a few days ago "cruised" along the couch a little ways. It will be interested to see when she is motivated enough to do some more walking or crawling, as she is started to get more and more frustrated that she can't get to things or people. Right now, she just cries and fusses though. She's definitely got a temper hiding behind all of that happiness.

 

 

Teeth! Finally! 2 little teeth finally popped through. Of course, it happened while we were in New Zealand, and she does not seem to handle teething as well as Emmeline did. For several days, she was extremely tired, grouchy, and crabby.  The only person that could hold her was me, not even dad or grandma or grandpa. Thankfully, her night sleep wasn't too affected, and once the first one popped through, things were back to normal! Let's hope she's not this cranky for all of the rest of her teeth!

 

Babbling is almost non-stop these days, and we like to think she says some words "ah-dah" (all done) and "mama" and "dada". Not sure these actually correspond to the correct things yet, but sometimes it seems like they do! Emmeline is still her favorite person, and she loves to watch anything she is doing, laughing away. She still loves food, and is eating more and more of it. Sometimes she eats her own and then finished Emmeline's leftovers! She's also starting to drink her milk out of a straw cup at meals now, so she's really becoming so grown up!

 

 

We're officially on two naps, and she's a great napper! Each nap ranges from 1h10-2hrs. Sometimes she sleeps so much in a day that it's hard to get out and do anything. Yet she still sleeps 12 hours straight at night. Definitely not complaining, but so different than Emmeline as a baby. We're looking forward to the next month full of Christmas celebrations and seeing Corabelle's reaction!
