What a fabulous watermelon celebration for a little girl who certainly is one in a melon!
On a hot, humid day, family and a handful of friends gathered at the pool to celebrate Emmeline's first birthday. All of my craftiness came together quite well, which is always an unknown when you're pulling ideas from different sources! :)
Grandma Julie made her two awesome watermelon outfits and several bibs. How lucky we are to have such a talented Grandma!
Emmeline enjoyed swimming, opening presents, and of course, eating cake. The frosting was by far her favorite. (The cake was healthy, but not the frosting, ha!) She loved the frosting so much that she ended up on a sugar high, refusing her afternoon nap and babbling in her crib for an hour instead!
The weather didn't cooperate as much as I would have liked to have a little park photo shoot, so most of the photos had to be inside. The rain also contributed to poor lighting, so definitely not our best work. Sorry, Emmeline! Good thing she's so cute to make up for it! :) Also, her stats on the sign are definitely wrong; that's what happens when you have to guess ahead of time in order for the sign to be done in time. Corrected: 18.3 lbs, 29 in.
