It was a whirlwind of a birthday celebration for Corabelle. Her birthday fell right between getting back from Cambodia and Chinese New Year. We got to have two celebrations: one on her actual birthday and a party on one of the Chinese New Year public holidays.
We woke Corabelle up on her birthday with balloons in her crib, which she loved. She and Emmeline both had fun playing with them the rest of the day. It was a pretty chill day, hanging out at home, catching up on laundry. That night we had a small cake and sang her happy birthday. Big fan of the singing, not a fan of the healthy cake mom and Emmeline made her (also the oven broke halfway through baking). She tried giving it to me after she tasted it, ha!
Since her birthday fell so close to Chinese New Year this year, we decided to make it the theme of her party. We started with a little photo shoot, of course. She wasn't a huge fan of the grass, but we got a few good shots.
Her party was just a pool get together with some friends. Most were family friends with older kids, as most of her baby friends seemed to be away for the week given the holidays. Only 2 other babies, but that's okay, she had fun anyway, and it was a nice way to spend part of the public holiday. Corabelle was a little overwhelmed by the all the people, I think, and wasn't so into the singing or the cake eating while everyone was watching her. By the end of the party though, she was digging in like it was no one's business! Happy Birthday, Corabelle!
Thank goodness for friends/neighbors who let you use their oven to bake cakes when yours breaks the day before the party! The many cake faces of Corabelle!
