Milestones this month include grabbing objects and bringing to her mouth (everything!), becoming more vocal (lots of growls), and laughing like crazy! When she’s not tired (more on that later), she really is the happiest, most smiley baby. Lots of laughs and smiles at everything, especially Emmeline. Emmeline is her total favorite, and she will just stare at her while Emmeline is eating her meals.
Sleep has been a bit of a toss up this month. She’s following in Emmeline’s footsteps for sure: rockstar night sleep and not so good napper. She’s actually an even better night sleeper than Emmeline was, usually 11-12 hours every night in her own room. Sleeps usually 7-7 give or take 30 min on each side. And she doesn’t even wake up screaming in hunger in the morning!
Another plus, she has started falling asleep on her own!! 🙌🏼 If she’s overtired, it won’t work, but if you can manage to catch her at just the right time when she just starts to get tired (usually 1-1.5 hours after she last woke), she’ll go down on her own in 10-15 minutes. Sometimes, though, she’s just so overtired that all she does is scream. Some days it feels like she’s never content for more than 20 minutes because she’s screaming due to tiredness. The only thing that works in these cases is to nurse her to sleep (and then once you transfer her to the crib she’s awake in 20 min) or to let her cry (read scream) it out on her own. Holding and rocking her only seems to make her more mad. Unless you put her in the carrier for a walk, then she’s instantly out. We had a week or two of at least one good nap a day, but now we are in the 20-40 minute nap mode, which would be fine if she was happy for longer than 30 min before needing another nap. Oh Corabelle!!
Maybe by next month, we'll have things figured out a bit more! :) We are trying to get her to take a bottle, so hopefully that is successful. Corabelle is becoming more and more alert and curious, so I'm excited to see what this next month brings!
