1 Month

It's hard to believe it's been a month. It's been a whirlwind with adjusting to life with a newborn again, managing two kids, and moving out of Texas and preparing for an international move. Corabelle has been a trooper through it all, and she has already changed so much in just a few weeks!

      


Notes from Week 2: Grandma Julie and Grandpa Bill were around to help out everyone! Hate being cold, and you pee and poop like a boy during diaper changes! Very loud sleeper--lots of grunts and groans.

Notes from Week 3: Growing lots--gained a pound since leaving the hospital! Grandma & grandpa left; mom had her first time alone with two kids! Uncle Adam and Sydney came to visit. More awake time this week.

Notes from Week 4: More alert and awake periods. Starting to fight falling asleep for naps! Fussy time in the evening for several hours--always eating or crying until finally falling asleep. Starting 6 hour stretches in beginning of the night. Flew to Wisconsin and moved out of house in Texas. Met Grandma Jackie and Grandpa Dan.

 

 

 

It's been a busy but fun month. She's are a champ at eating, which has helped me be much less stressed than I was with Emmeline those first few weeks. Corabelle is quite a noisy sleeper, grunting and making noises in her sleep, especially the last 3ish hours of the night from 3-4am on. She doesn't seem bothered by it, but it sure kept mom and dad awake a lot!

 

 

    

Corabelle was a big sleeper the first few weeks; we only saw her eyes a few times each day. Around 3-4 weeks, she started waking up and fighting going to sleep (sounds like another little baby we knew...) She also started her evening fussy period around this time, where nothing seems to console her other than just crying it out.

 

 

     

 





Now that she's awake more, it's fun to see how she loves to watch her big sister. She is especially enthralled by new sounds and the contrast of windows to inside. She is so close to giving us some real smiles and has started talking and vocalizing more and more each day. Looking forward to the changes the next month has in store!
