A little over a year ago, still functioning on little sleep and really having no idea what I was doing, I joined the Mothers of the Woodlands group that I found through a late-night nursing google search. The first event I attended was a baby playgroup, where I met a group of moms with babies all similarly aged (within 4 months of each other). This bi-weekly gathering quickly becoming the highlight of our weeks, but we quickly became a tight-knit bunch. It's been fun to watch the babies grow and support each other through the ups and downs. So when Clare offered to host us for a moms weekend away at her new family ranch in Hill Country, we all were pumped! Sadly, it didn't work out for our entire group to come, but 5 of us enjoyed some much needed "me" time in the beauty of Hill Country!
Although the weather was rather rainy and cool, there were a few breaks where we got to enjoy the views from the hill, went on a little hike, and enjoyed a fire complete with s'mores and wine.
We ventured into the quaint town of Bandera for a little shopping and grocery stock-up, but most of our time was spent chatting and hanging out at the cabin.
The weather lent itself well to sleeping in, hot chocolate, crafting, and cookie decorating. This group of mamas loves to craft, and it's so fun to see what everyone is working on each time we're together. There was painting, stocking making, crocheting, and cross-stitching going on this weekend! Our crafting skills are a bit better than our cookie decorating skills, ha!
Looking forward to our next mom get-away! So thankful for these ladies, and thanks to the dads for watching the kiddos all weekend! Even if they were the only ones not dressed in Christmas attire at the Mothers of the Woodlands Christmas party! ;)
