Pandemic Quarantine

Oh, how the world has changed in just a few short months. Little did we know how different our spring months in Wisconsin would look than what we had planned, but we are thankful for the extra bonding time, and we managed to have quite a bit of fun too!

We had planned to put Emmeline in 4K 4 half days a week, but she only made it 2 days before school was canceled and we went into lockdown mode. Instead, we did "homeschool" for 58 days (89 days of lockdown) where we learned through fun. Dad was Zero and Hero on our 10s days, and we enjoyed calendar every day mixed in with fun, play activities.

 

 

 

 

Grandma Julie did music class, Emmeline learned a bit of piano, and Grandma Jackie did some "library" lessons with us. How lucky we are that we had grandparents to help make the time go faster!  

March was pretty chilly, but we did manage a bit of outside play, some walks and scooter rides. Grandma Julie and Grandpa Bill kept us busy too.

  

In April, the weather was starting to improve, so we did lots of bike rides and outside play. We switched to Grandma Jackie and Grandpa Dan's this month, which meant more time to explore nature and watch the flowers start to bloom. Cora got potty trained, Dad built a stuffed animal end table, and we fished and biked.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It wouldn't be spring in Wisconsin without an April snowstorm, which happened on Easter this year. We still have fun decorating eggs, finding eggs, and finding our Easter baskets, though.

 

 

In May, the weather was really improving, and we continued to fish, play outside, and go on bike rides. Emmeline became an expert butterfly catcher! It was also Mother's Day, and the girls and Nick treated me to a wonderful breakfast with gifts, cards, and flowers.

 

And then it was June and time to start on our road trip out west. It's taken a bit of a Covid-19 twist with masks, lots of Lysol and cleaning products, little to no indoor exploration, but this is the new normal, and we are thankful we can get outside and enjoy nature still!
