Easter Celebrations

Emmeline was old enough this year to actually understand a bit of Easter. Despite moving around Easter (hence the delayed post), we managed to still find time for a few fun celebrations.

We started with an egg hunt at the library the weekend before Easter. By hunt, I mean more of the lawn is covered in eggs and kids 0-3 slowly put them in their baskets one by one. Emmeline loved it! Even though the eggs were filled with candy that wasn't really appropriate for little ones (jawbreakers, gum, etc.) she did get her first taste of candy: Laffy Taffy. She most licked it, but she definitely is a sugar fan!

The next day we had Dean, Kristin, Ava and Eric, Kelly, Thomas over for a brunch and egg dying. The kids did a lot better with it than we thought they might. The Pinterest whisk hack was definitely helpful in extending their attention spans and helped them not get so messy!

On the Friday before Easter, we singed to for "Breakfast with the Bunny" through the township, which was a blast. On a beautiful sunny morning, we ate breakfast, made a rabbit craft, had another egg hunt, and then got to see the Easter Bunny. Based on how Santa went, I was prepared for lots of tears. Instead, she cried when we had to leave the Easter Bunny! I'm not sure if it's because it's a bunny (she loves animals) or what, but she was so excited to sit in his lap, that she went not once, but three times!

Easter Sunday started with an egg scavenger hunt to find her Easter basket. It took a few eggs to get the hang of it, but she loved looking all over for her clues! After church and nap, we grilled out steak and corn on the cob (quickly becoming her favorite meal)! Happy Easter!
