Tour De Parcs: March

I recently grabbed a copy of The Woodlands Township’s parks, thinking it would be fun to visit them all with Emmeline. Well, I had no idea how many parks are in The Woodlands: 139! So, slowly, we are making our way through the parks that have playgrounds (about 85). Here’s the ones from March!

Tamarac
Our local park, just steps from our apartment. Still a favorite beacuse it’s shaded, has 2 different new playgrounds, a pond (with ducks and ducklings), a dog park, and a skatepark, all of which provide endless hours of entertainment. The turtle pond is just a short walk away, too!

Shadowbend
A regular meet-up spot with Emmeline’s friends because it’s centrally located. The tot playground is great for their age, and there’s a splashpad right next door. But, for Emmeline the best part in the turtle bridge!

Bear Branch
Another regular because it’s sooo toddler friendly. Nothing is super high, there’s a lot of ramps for easy access, little animal rockers, and a cool rolling slide. The only thing Emmeline doesn’t like here is the sand pit.

Maplewood
Running/biking distance from our house, never anyone there, big open field, and 2 play structures. But, they’re both a little big for her and there’s not much shade so this probably won’t be one we return to very often.

Falconwing
Two play structures: one for tots, and one huge “boat” structure, that even Emmeline loved climbing on. It’s very shaded and connects to large soccer fields, and eventually one of the pools with yet another play structure. We both loved this park and will definitely return!

These next two are in an area that I didn’t even realize was part of The Woodlands. Not an area we spend a lot of time in, so we probably won’t return, but they were fun to check out!

Sunset Springs
Old playground structures, and quite small. Emmeline liked the tire swing but that was about it!

High Oaks
Very large and newer, but it was mostly for older kids. Actually, if I had an older kid, we would be here all the time! There are so many unique climbing structures to get you to a new area only accessible by climbing. It’s also shaded and has a great picnic area. But for Emmeline, she really only liked the balance beam!
